Gillis Hill Corn Maze

We took a trip to a local corn maze this past week with my Girl Scout Troop... Everyone had a blast and we all learned some fun facts about North Carolina! Gillis Hill Produce Stand created an "educational" corn maze this year... They had posts set in the ground that ask you North Carolina trivia and then give you directions on which way to go according to your answer. It was an unique way to experience a corn maze. Here are a few snapshots of our trip...

Funny Laws still on the books in NC {these were my favorite part... hehe}

We had a great time going through the educational corn maze that Gillis Hill Produce created! They are also having a "haunted" corn maze when it gets closer to Halloween. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next year!

Join us in raising money for our school...

We have registered with two companies that reward you for using their products... Tyson Chicken Project A+  and General Mills Box Tops for Education. If you purchase any of these product and keep their logos {look below for what to keep} and turn them in they will send us a check for the total! It would be a huge help in buying the curriculum for the kids!!!!

All we have to do is collect these and turn them in... So,  if you would pay attention to the items you buy from these companies and help us raise money for Terra Firma Academy!

MIllstone Creek Orchard...

We took a trip with our homeschool group to a nearby apple orchard. It was our first time to pick apples off the trees and we really enjoyed ourselves! I was practicing my hand a photography snapping shots of the kiddos in the beautiful scenery! Since this is our first year of homeschooling, I am also trying to figure out how to contribute to our family income... I am hoping that photography can be the answer!

Getting started...

Tomorrow is our first outing with our homeschool group to a local apple orchard, Millstone Creek Orchards. I think that I might be MORE excited than the kids... {maybe because I have never seen an apple still hanging from its tree}! I plan on taking a ton of pictures of their little faces when they see the apples in all their glory! Wish us luck and I will try to post the pics tomorrow night!

If you live in the NC area  here is a link to their website:
